A Live Wedding Painting

Church Wedding Painting

Painted live through the rain — in a church that meant so much

A rainy wedding day, a tent, and a last-minute change of plan. When the hoped-for green setting washed out, the photographer's picture from the church saved the day — and despite the difficult start, it turned out beautiful.

The Story

How this canvas came together.

I was so thankful for this opportunity to paint this painting live! It was definitely nerve wrecking but everyone was so nice and understanding. The day was not cooperating, the bride and I were both hoping for a beautiful green setting, but it was a very raining day. Thankfully the photographer had a good picture from the church so I changed the plan. I learned a lot with this one, the lighting, the tent, the rain just all made it so much harder then when I can paint at home in perfect sunlight by the window :). I am really happy with the final painting, despite the difficult start, it turned out beautiful.

I love her flowers, the pretty green windows in the background, the smile on their faces... I am also happy that despite making the decision to paint them in the church, the couple told me that this church meant a lot to them, so on a way I made the right call :).

Thank you so much! I hope it will be an heirloom for a long time!
